Marche républicaine

Nous sommes Charlie.

For those who have subscribed to the contre-meme, “I am not Charlie”, I hate to break it to you but, yes, you are Charlie. Simply because you’re able to say that, tweet that, post it to your Facebook wall. Call it the “Je suis Charlie” paradox.

We did not even come close to participating in the official march between République and Nation — so many people. Literally millions. People converging on a point. It was strange to see so many humans moving with this singular purpose — the unity of a hive, an army of ants — all the while knowing that the importance of the gathering was for the protection of individual expression.
